The Advocate

The Advocate is the University of Nottingham’s student-run law and social science magazine, founded on the principles of academic freedom, intellectual curiosity and open debate. We provide a platform for students to engage with a broad range of issues across law, politics, current affairs and the social sciences, encouraging independent thought and the free exchange of ideas.

Our aim is to give students a space to develop and share their perspectives, while fostering a culture of thoughtful discussion and intellectual engagement across the University. Each edition brings together a diverse range of student voices, exploring subjects from legal and political developments to wider questions affecting society.

Whether you are an aspiring writer, interested in law and social sciences, passionate about current affairs, or have an idea you want to explore, The Advocate offers a space for your voice to be heard. We welcome contributions from students across the University and encourage anyone with an interest in informed debate to get involved.
