Cardiff Academic Freedom Association
The Cardiff Academic Freedom Association (CAFA) was launched on 18 April 2024 to promote academic freedom and freedom of speech at Cardiff University. CAFA is strictly independent and non-partisan; it will only promote academic freedom and never take positions on other issues.
CAFA aims to (i) bring together academic and professional services staff who are concerned about academic freedom and freedom of speech, (ii) support staff who are facing restrictions, (iii) lobby the university to uphold and promote academic freedom and (iv) organize an annual lecture on this theme.
CAFA’s convenors are Professor Thomas Prosser and Dr. Rhianwen Daniel.
